Retired FBI AGENT with 23 Years of Service
Steve was born and raised in the small shore town of Somers Point, New Jersey. He learned his core conservative values and love of America from his mother, a homemaker and his father, a Navy veteran who served in the Bay of Pigs and Cuban missile crisis. Steve’s father, who worked two full-time jobs for 38 years, instilled in him a strong work ethic and an appreciation for American exceptionalism.
Steve graduated from Mainland Regional High School in Linwood, New Jersey where he played football and wrestled for his varsity teams. He also spent his childhood surfing at Ocean City and enjoying the Jersey shore where he still takes his family on vacation.
Growing up in a blue collar family, Steve worked full time through college and paid his way through Atlantic Community College where he studied criminal justice. Following graduation he applied to the police academy and became a patrolman with the Somers Point Police Department at 20 years old. While working full time as a police officer Steve obtained his B.A. in Criminal Justice from Stockton University. He was later promoted to Sergeant at 25 years old, the youngest sergeant with the department at the time. Throughout his career with Somers Point P.D. Steve earned many accolades and took part on numerous impactful calls including saving a hostage from a knife wielding assailant.
Steve’s love for law enforcement and dedication to serve his country led him to apply to join the Federal Bureau of Investigations. After a grueling application process Steve entered the FBI Academy in Quantico, VA in 1999. Upon graduation from the Academy, Steve was assigned as a Special Agent to the Flagship Field Office in New York City; the largest and busiest office in the Bureau.
Like many other Americans, Steve remembers the horror our nation went through on September 11th, 2001. He was working near the World Trade Center the morning of 9/11 and aided in evacuation of civilians, almost losing his life when the South Tower collapsed. In the days, weeks, and months following the attack by islamic terrorists on 9/11, Steve worked 16 hour days investigating leads and interviewing witnesses. He was eventually selected to oversee the central command post’s investigation of thousands of leads pouring into the FBI tip lines.
Steve later was assigned to work in the FBI’s counterterrorism, counterintelligence, and criminal cases across the country. Towards the end of his career he saw firsthand the politicization of the FBI and realized the Bureau was quickly becoming the political law enforcement arm of the Biden Administration and the Democratic Party. Dissatisfied with the track the new “woke” liberal FBI was heading down, Steve decided to retire from the Bureau and continue to serve our nation in another way, by running for Congress.
In Congress, Steve plans to be a rock-ribbed conservative and fight for our shared values while returning America to the base principles that made our nation great. He believes in the America First policies set forth by the Trump Administration and plans to fight for America First in the halls of Congress. Steve believes America needs to be respected again on the international stage and supports peace through strength is the best path forward for our nation. By bringing jobs back home, getting government out of the way of American businesses, and bolstering free market solutions, Steve believes we can return to the era of economic prosperity our nation enjoyed for so many years. He will never bow down to the Radical Left and will fight to return America to being the shining city on a hill once again.
Steve and wife Laura have been married nearly 30 years. They have lived in Monmouth County for the past 21 years where they’ve raised their two girls, Erin and Jillian. They run a small family business and are avid beach goers, vacationing at the Jersey shore as often as their schedules allow.
